1 lb. dates
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
6 tbsp. butter
1 c. nuts
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Pour boiling water over chopped dates and soda and let cool. Add all the rest. Beat. Bake in 350 degrees oven (if in glass pan, reduce heat to 325 degrees) for 40-45 minutes in 13 x 9 inch pan.
