1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. milk plus 2 tbsp. vinegar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream sugars, butter, vanilla and eggs until fluffy. Add milk with vinegar and beat. Beat in flour. Add cocoa and soda to boiling water and blend in slowly. Pour into two 9-inch layer cake pans.

Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°F.
