MY CHILDREN'S FAVORITE DATE
PUDDING
 
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. water
1 tsp. oil

BATTER:

1 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. oil
1 tsp. cinnamon

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and 1 cup sugar together. Mix with milk and oil. Stir to stiff batter and add dates and nuts. Heat water, 1 cup sugar and oil to boiling point in baking pan, then drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls over hot syrup. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Serve with Cool Whip.
