HAMBURGER SOUP 
1 lb. lean ground beef
3 med. onions, sliced
3 med. carrots, sliced
3 med. celery stalks, sliced
1/4 c. water
7 c. water
16 oz. can stewed tomatoes
1/2 c. quick barley
1/4 c. precooked rice
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. beef bouillon

Brown hamburger with sliced onions. Steam carrots and celery in 1/4 cup water until barely tender. Add to meat mixture. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes. Any additional vegetables you might have left in the refrigerator, add to the soup.
