4 to 5 cucumbers (small) sliced (do not skin) 1 lg. onion SOLUTION: 1 c. white sugar 1 c. dark vinegar 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. tumeric 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp. mustard seed In quart jar, slice thin 1/2 onion at bottom of jar. Put in sliced cucumbers. Add 1/2 onion sliced on top and pack tightly. Bring above solution to a boil in pan and let cool. Pour over cucumber and onions in jar and seal. Put in refrigerator and turn jar upside down occasionally. Ready to eat in 4 days. |
