PINEAPPLE CAKE WITH ICING 
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
6 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, add buttermilk and dry ingreidents alternating until blended. Pour into 4 greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

ICING:

1 can crushed pineapple
1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla, add after cooking

Cook until thick, spread on layers. This makes enough for 4 layers.
