DANISH PASTRY 
3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. butter
6 tbsp. cold water

Divide dough in half and pat with hands into 2 long strips (about 12 x 4 inches). Set aside for 2nd layer.

2ND LAYER:

3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. water

Bring butter and water mixture to a rolling boil. Remove from heat and add immediately 1 1/2 cups flour. When smooth add 4 large or 5 small eggs. One at a time, beating until smooth. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons almond or lemon flavoring (either one is good). Spread this mixture evenly over each piece of pastry. Bake 70-75 minutes at 350 degrees.

When cool frost with powdered sugar frosting using at least 1/4 cup butter, powdered sugar, milk and either flavoring. Beat for quite some time, spread evenly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, or leave half without nuts.
