MEAT-POTATO BURGERS 
3/4 lb. chopped beef
3/4 c. chopped or coarsely grated raw potato
1/4 c. chopped or grated onion
1 egg
Bacon drippings or other fat
1 c. tomato juice or 1 c. milk
1 tbsp. flour

1. Mix all ingredients except tomato juice or milk and flour.

2. Form into 4 to 5 flat cakes.

3. Brown the cakes on both sides.

4. Add tomato juice or milk and simmer slowly for 25 minutes.

5. Remove cakes.

6. Add flour with a little water and stir slowly into the liquid in the pan.

7. Cook until thickened.

8. Serve gravy with the meat cakes. Serves 4 or 5.
