FAR EAST CHERRIES AND HAM 
1 (16 oz.) can light or dark sweet cherries
1 (8 3/4 oz.) can pineapple chunks
2 1/2 c. cooked ham, cut in strips
2 tbsp. oil
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. prepared mustard
3 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
Dash pepper
1 green pepper, coarsely chopped
3/4 c. diagonally cut green onions

Drain cherries and pineapple, reserving syrups. Brown ham in oil. Combine fruit syrups with brown sugar, cornstarch, mustard, vinegar, soy sauce and pepper. Add to ham mixture and cook, stirring until thickened.

Add green pepper, green onions, cherries and pineapple. Heat to boiling. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes longer. Serve with steamed rice.

Makes 6 servings.
