NITA'S POUND CAKE | |
2 sticks butter 1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. sugar 1 c. sweet milk, divided Cream butter, Crisco, sugar and 1/2 cup milk. 3 1/2 c. sifted Swans Down cake flour 6 eggs 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. almond flavoring Add flour and eggs alternately to creamed mixture. Put baking powder in other 1/2 cup milk and add last. Mix in flavorings and salt. For chocolate pound, add 4 tablespoons cocoa to flour. Make NO substitutions and make NO changes in directions and you will have a delicious cake! |
