RUSSIAN COLE SLAW 
8 c. cabbage, shredded
3 green sweet peppers, chopped fine
3 red sweet peppers, chopped fine
1 med. onion, chopped fine
1 pt. vinegar
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. celery seed

Mix cabbage, green and red peppers and onion in stainless steel or glass bowl. Mix vinegar, sugar, mustard seed, salt, turmeric and celery seed in saucepan; bring to a boil. Pour over cabbage mixture; mix well. Cover, marinate in refrigerate for 24 hours before serving. Two small jars pimento strips, drained, may be substituted for red peppers.

it took me a week to find this recipe. I have a recipe book somewhere but cant find it! I kept asking the Internet for Russian Coleslaw, it gave me several but it was not the right one. I asked the Internet for a coleslaw recipe that has Turmeric in it and the vinegar is boiled. Thank GOD it came up under Cooks.com!! This is the best coleslaw recipe I have tried. This coleslaw is very good with barbecue, I love it with spaghetti too! Thanks for the recipe again I will run me copies off so I will not lose it again.
