2 c. flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. butter
1 c. raisins, chopped
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sugar
1 c. nuts, chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg, unbeaten
1 c. mince meat

Sift flour once, measure, add soda, salt and spices and sift together three times. Work butter with spoon until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating well and until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat again. Add nuts, raisins and flour with mince meat, beating until smooth. Turn into greased loaf pan and bake for 75 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
