SOUR CREAM SPICE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and shortening well. Add beaten eggs. Sift spices and baking soda with the flour. Add flour mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour. Add nuts. Pour into a 9x13-inch pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.
