BLACK CHERRY CONSERVE 
2 seeded oranges
1 qt. black cherries
6 tbsp. lemon juice
3 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Cut oranges into very thin slices. Barely cover with water. Cook until very tender. Stem, seed, and add cherries. Add lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir until sugar dissolved. Simmer, moderate heat, until thick and clear. Stir occasionally to be sure it's not sticking. Store in sterile jars. Yield: About 8 jelly jars.
