ICE WATER WHITE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. ice water
3 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
4 tsp. baking powder
4 egg whites (beaten stiff)
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with ice water. Fold egg whites and vanilla in. Makes 2 large layers or 2 square pans 8x8 inch. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.
