LITTLE GEMS 
3 c. unsifted all purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
3 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature, cut into pieces
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
Strawberry or other preserves
Pecan halves

Combine first three ingredients. Cut in butter. Beat egg yolks with vanilla and add to flour. Blend well. Refrigerate. Roll into 3/4 teaspoon size balls. Make round indentation. Fill with 1/8 teaspoon preserves and top with pecan. Bake until light brown at 325 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Yield: 8 to 9 dozen.
