MEXICAN CORNBREAD 
1 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
1 lb. grated cheese
1 sm. onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. shortening or bacon grease
1 (# 2) can white cream style corn
3 eggs
1/2 c. sweet milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix ingredients and bake in hot greased skillet, at 450 degrees until toothpick comes out clean.
