CHOCOLATE COCONUT SQUARES | |
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 egg 1 1/3 c. flaked coconut, divided 1 c. chopped pecans 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels BASE: 1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. cake mix 1 bar of butter 1 egg TOPPING: In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract and egg; beat until well blended. Stir in 1 cup coconut, pecans and semi-sweet chocolate morsels. Set aside. BASE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl combine cake mix, butter and egg; mix until well combined. Press into greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Spread topping over base. Sprinkle remaining 1/3 cup coconut on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. NOTE: Center may appear loose but will set upon cooling. Cool completely on wire rack. Cut into 2 inch squares. |
