GOB FILLING (COOKED) 
5 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 cup milk

Cook until thickened and then let cool. Beat:

1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Then add both mixtures together and fill Gobs.

This is the original recipe that I have always used. From my roots in PA. I use it for cakes also that don't need decorated. Just the right amount of sweetness!
