CRISP SWEET PICKLES 
14 med. size cucumbers

SYRUP:

8 c. sugar
1 qt. cider vinegar
2 tbsp. pickling salt
2 tbsp. pickling spices

Place whole cucumbers in crock. Pour boiling water over them for 4 days, changing the water each day.

On fifth day, slice cucumbers to 1/4 inch thick. Heat syrup ingredients to boiling and pour over drained cucumbers. Repeat 6th and 7th day.

On 8th day, pack in sterile jars. Heat the syrup, pour in jars to cover, then seal. Makes 7 pints.
