1 lb. Imperial butter
1 lb. powdered sugar
Pinch salt
1/2 dozen eggs
3 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract

Cream butter and sugar together till creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating each well. Add vanilla. Add flour gradually till well blended. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 10 minutes or till cake tester comes out clean.
