SOPAIPILLAS 
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. lukewarm water
Fat for frying

Stir flour, salt, baking powder. Put in shortening until looks like cornmeal. Gradually add water. Put on floured surface. Knead into ball. Break in 1/2. Let set for 10 minutes. Roll each half THIN. Cut into 2 to 2 1/2 inch squares. Fry few at a time in hot 400 degree oil until golden. Drain on paper towel. Serve hot with cinnamon/sugar or put a little honey on them.
