BRAISED ONION SLICES 
6-8 tbsp. butter
4 med. onions, cut 1/3" 3/4" slices
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Melt butter. Add onions; cover tightly. Cook over low heat about 25 minutes. Add salt. Stir in Parmesan cheese just before serving. Makes 8 servings.
