HAMBURGER VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. potatoes, cubed
1 c. onion, chopped
1 c. carrots, sliced
1 qt. tomatoes
1 qt. hot water
1 beef bouillon cube
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 bay leaf
1/3 c. rice
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown beef, drain off fat. Place in large kettle and add rest of ingredients and cook slowly until vegetables are done. Remove bay leaf and discard.
