FRUIT SQUARES 
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 can fruit pie filling

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut butter into dry ingredients. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. Mix and toss with a fork. Put 3/4 of the batter into an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Spread evenly with hands.

Place fruit pie filling over top of batter in pan. Sprinkle remaining batter on top. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes.

Suggestions for pie filling: Apple, cherry, lemon.
