HUNGARIAN GOULASH SOUP | |
1 lb. ground beef 3 tbsp. caraway seeds (smashed with a mallet) 3 chopped garlic cloves 1 diced onion 1 diced green pepper 1/4 lb. diced bacon 1/8 c. Hungarian paprika 1/2 c. dill pickles, chopped fine 1/2 c. pickle juice 1/2 c. sauerkraut 4 oz. Dijon mustard 3/4 c. flour 1/2 gallon chicken stock 3 diced potatoes In a large soup pot saute bacon until crisp, add ground beef and brown along with onions, peppers, pickles, kraut, garlic and spices. Stir for 2 minutes, add flour and stir. Cook another 5 minutes, add potatoes and add other ingredients. Top with sour cream dollops and serve. |
