CHINESE STEAK AND ONIONS 
1 1/2 lbs. sirloin steak
5 tbsp. vegetable oil
4 c. sliced onions
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. dry sherry
2 tbsp. corn starch

Cut steak into narrow slices. Heat half of the oil in a skillet and saute the onions for 3 minutes. Add the sugar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sherry; cook a few seconds. Remove onion mixture.

Toss the steak with cornstarch, remaining soy sauce, and sherry. Heat remaining oil in a skillet and brown steak. Return onions to pan and cook for 2 minutes.
