ORANGE SLICE CANDY CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
4 c. flour (use 1 c. for nuts & fruit)
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. orange peels
1 lb. orange slices
1 pkg. dates
2 c. nuts

Slice orange slices with scissors. Slice dates and nuts and flour with 1 cup of flour. Mix soda with buttermilk. Grease and flour 4 (1 lb.) coffee cans to bake cake in. Mix all ingredients together and place in coffee cans and bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 300 degrees. Take from oven and add glaze.

GLAZE:

1 c. frozen orange juice
2 c. sugar

Bring to boil and cool and pour over cake while hot and still in coffee can. Freezes very good for use at any time.
