1 c. sugar 2 c. lard 1 tsp. anise seed 2 eggs, well beaten 6 c. sifted flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. fruit juice Cream lard thoroughly until light and fluffy, add sugar and anise seed. Add eggs. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Add twice and knead until well blended. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut into fancy small shapes. Bake in a moderate oven until slightly browned. Roll in mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. |
