CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING 
3 c. milk
4 c. day old, white sliced bread, approximately 6 slices
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
Dash of salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Heat milk in saucepan until bubbles appear around edge. Meanwhile, toss together bread, butter, and sugar in medium size bowl. Beat eggs in second bowl; slowly stir in milk. Add salt, vanilla, and bread mixture. Pour into buttered casserole (1 1/4 quart size). Sprinkle with cinnamon. Set casserole into baking pan; which has about 1 inch of hot water in pan. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 55 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Leave at room temperature or chill.
