OATMEAL BARS 
2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. soft butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. quick-cooking oats
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 can Eagle Brand milk
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped fruit
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. quick-cooking oats

Grease pan. Mix sugar, 1 cup butter, eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla in large bowl. Stir in flour, soda, and salt. Stir in 2 cups oats. Reserve 1 cup oatmeal batter. Press remaining in greased pan.

Heat chocolate chips, milk and 2 teaspoons butter in 2 quart saucepan until melted. Add nuts, vanilla and salt. Spread over pressed oatmeal mixture. Drop remaining batter over the top by spoonfuls, like drop cookies. Top each cookie with nut meat. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
