CHRISTMAS ROCK COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. wine or whiskey
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda with 1 tsp. water
1 lb. walnuts, chopped
1 lb. raisins, soaked in warm water & drained
1/2 lb. candied cherries, chopped

Cream shortening well and add sugar. Slowly add eggs, one at a time and mix well between each one. Add the baking soda mixed with water. Then fold in the flour and wine. Add the raisins, nuts and cherries and mix well until blended. Drop from a teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
