AUNTIE IRENE'S CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 sq. melted chocolate
1 c. boiling water
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add melted chocolate, add flour and water alternately. Add vanilla. Mixture will be thin. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
