2 c. self-rising flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Mix sugar and egg together until creamy, add vanilla flavoring. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each. Add nuts and drop onto cookie sheet. Bake at 475 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
