BOILED RICE | |
10 c. water 1 tbsp. salt 2 c. rice, long grain In a large pot bring salted water to a boil. Add rice and stir well. Reduce heat to simmer and cover. Cook 18 to 20 minutes. Taste rice. It should be tender and firm, but not soft. Drain in colander. Refresh with hot water. Put about 1" of water into cooking pot over low heat. Set colander over water. Steam about 10 minutes. Yield: 6 cups. |
