SPICED CRANBERRY PUNCH 
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks (each 2" long)
2 c. cranberry juice
1/2 c. lemon juice
1 c. orange juice
1 qt. ginger ale
Whole cloves
Fresh lemon & orange slices
1/5 rum or vodka

Mix first 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to boil point and boil 5 minutes. Strain out spices. Cool. Mix with fruit juices. Just before serving, pour into a punch bowl over ice. Add ginger ale. Stud lemon and orange slices with whole cloves and float over the top. Add the rum or vodka -- serve in punch cups. Yield: 12 servings. Note: May be made the day before with exception of ginger ale.
