GOBS 
4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Cream sugar, shortening, and eggs. Add sour milk or buttermilk and vanilla. Add alternately dry ingredients and 1 cup of boiling water. After all is mixed, drop by spoonsful of an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool and put 2 together with the following filling in between.

FILLING:

1 c. milk
4 tbsp. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix milk and flour into a thick white sauce over low heat, stirring continuously. Cool and add sugar, butter, Crisco, and vanilla. Beat until very fluffy.
