PEAR COBBLER 
Pears
2 c. pear juice, cooked
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
Nutmeg, pinch

Cook pears. Drain. Use 2 cups of the juice. Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add pear juice gradually and stir until thick. Add cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg. Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Dot with butter. Pour pears over it.

TOPPING:

Bread slices
1 egg
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted

Place bread over pears. Mix egg, sugar and butter. Pour over bread slices and let stand 20 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees until top is brown.
