CREAM CONGO BARS 
2/3 cup shortening with 2 1/4 cups brown sugar (1 pound), 3 eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Sift and add 2 2/3 cups flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup chopped nuts, and 1 package chocolate chips. Bake in greased 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
