First Day: 1 1/2 cup starter from a friend and add 1 (16 ounce) can diced or sliced peaches and juice and 2 1/2 cups sugar. Mix together, stir every day and keep covered. 10th Day: Add 16 ounce can fruit cocktail and juice and 2 cups sugar, 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries and juice. Mix together, stir every day and keep covered. 30th Day: Drain juice from fruit. Divide fruit into thirds (for 3 cakes). Divide juice into 1 1/2 cups portions. These 1 1/2 cups portions are now the starters. Store in tight container and give to friends with a copy of this recipe. For Each Cake: 1/3 of the fruit 4 eggs 1 yellow cake mix 1 1/2 c. nuts 2/3 c. oil 1 sm. box vanilla instant pudding mix 1 tsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients together by hand. Bake in greased and floured bundt or tube pan at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. If top begins to burn, cover with aluminum foil. |
