OATMEAL ICEBOX COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. oats, uncooked
1/2 c. pecans

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla, then the beaten eggs. Sift flour with other dry ingredients and add to mixture. Add oats and nuts. Form dough in long roll. Wrap in wax paper. Chill thoroughly overnight. Slice and bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
