BEAVER CAKE | |
2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 2 sticks butter 1 c. water 4 tbsp. cocoa 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda FROSTING: 1/2 cube butter 1/2 to 3/4 lb. powdered sugar 3 tbsp. cocoa Milk, enough to make very thick pouring consistency In bowl put flour and sugar. In saucepan, put butter, water and cocoa; bring to boil and let butter melt. Pour over flour and sugar and mix well with wire whip. Add eggs and mix. Add milk and soda and vanilla and mix. Pour into greased and floured 11 x 15 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. While cake is baking mix frosting. As soon as cake comes out of oven, pour frosting over cake. Cool before cutting. |
