HUNGARIAN ROLLS | |
Dissolve one yeast cake in 1/2 cup warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar, let yeast cake rise to top. 3/4 c. milk, scalded 1 beaten eggs 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 1 beaten egg Add salt and sugar to scalded milk and cool to lukewarm. Combine all the ingredients. Add 3 1/2 cups flour and 1/4 cup melted butter alternately. Let stand at room temperature for 2 hours. Form balls. Dip in melted butter and roll in 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup nut meats, 1/2 cup raisins and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Put in greased angel food pan in layers. Fill in with remaining sugar mixture. Let stand 45 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Quick method - Get Pillsbury hot roll mix. Shape the dough and roll in mixture. You will not need an angel food cake pan. This makes a smaller batch. A 9 x 9 inch square pan will do. |
