HUNGARIAN BREAD DUMPLINGS A LA
MATT KUBICK
 
2 c. dried cubed bread (5 slices or rolls)
1 sm. onion minced (optional)
2 sprigs parsley
1 oz. butter
Salt to taste
1/4 c. milk (add more as needed)
3 tbsp. flour (add as required)
1 egg
1/2 tsp. maggi

Saute onions and parsley in butter. Place bread in pan and brown to slightly yellow; add salt, flour and stir until well mixed. Beat egg and milk and add to bread mix; let stand until absorbed. Bring water to boil (add salt). Make large balls and drop into boiling water. Cook 10 minutes; drain and run cold water on.
