1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tbsp. red coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 tsp. white vinegar
2 c. cake flour
Pinch of salt
3 tbsp. cocoa

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, buttermilk, coloring and vanilla. Add flour, salt and cocoa and mix well. Last add the baking soda and vinegar, folding in lightly. Pour into greased and floured heart pans and bake about 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from pans and frost with Marshmallow Frosting. Garnish with cinnamon hearts.
