POUND CAKE 
1 lb. butter, at room temperature
1 lb. sugar
1 lb. flour
1 dozen eggs
1 to 2 tsp. vanilla to taste
1 tsp. lemon extract

Cream butter and sugar. Add one egg at a time until all are used. Add flour gradually, mixing well. Add vanilla and lemon. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
