CUPCAKES FOR THE BIRDS 
2 qt. water
1 c. lard or butter
4 c. (any combination) corn meal, farina, cream of wheat
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. apples, chopped
Raisins, dates, etc.
1 c. birdseed or sunflower seeds

Bring water and butter to boil in large pot. Slowly stir in cereal and cook until thick, anywhere from 5-15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and fruit. Let cool before adding seeds or nuts. Spoon into nonmeal containers. Store in refrigerator or freezer. Or fill orange halves.
