DEVILED SWISS STEAK | |
1 1/2 lb. top round steak, 1 inch thick 1 tbsp. dry mustard 1/2 c. flour 1 c. onions, sliced 1 carrot, diced 1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. brown sugar Mix flour and mustard; pound into steak (both sides). Season with salt and pepper. Brown on both sides in a little oil. Place into a small roaster. Mix onions, carrot, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Pour this mixture over meat. Cover; bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, until meat is tender. Serves 4. |
