1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Sift.

1 c. dates, cut up
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water, pour over soda
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
Nuts, if desired

Cream sugar and butter, add egg. Pour date mix over creamed sugar. Add flour, salt and baking powder. Grease cupcake pans. Put into cupcake pans, bake 40 minutes at 300 degrees.

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
1 c. cream or 1/2 and 1/2
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter

Heat in double boil. Mix well. When ready to serve, pour hot sauce over cupcakes.
