BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
1 lb. box white raisins
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
3 tsp. baking soda
2 c. boiling water
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour

Grease 6 (#303) string bean cans that have been cleaned and paper label removed, or four 5 1/2 x 3 7/8 and 2 3/8 inch loaf pans can be used. Mix first 5 ingredients together and cool.

Mix second 5 ingredients together, add raisin mixture. Fill cans or pans 3/4 full. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. After baking, cool 10 minutes in pans, then turn out to cool remaining time.
